Bio

Biography

I was born in Adelaide in January of 1955 to German parents who immigrated to Australia shortly after the second world war. From a very early age I’ve been drawn to drawing and being creative in the many different art media.

I am a qualified theatre nurse still working in this field part time. In 2009 I completed a Diploma of fine arts at Box Hill TAFE. This opened up a whole new world for me to explore.

My current art practice consists of both paintings and sculptures. This year my main focus has been in painting using acrylic paint.

The artists that have influenced me most are the German expressionists, especially the works of Otto Dix and Karl Schmidt-Rottloff. I try in my recent works, to capture, through the use of colour and form, a strong visual narrative.
